    Devon McClive



    I am a classically trained cello teacher. I teach kids from 7-17 (and adults as well!) I use a fun approach combining classical techniques with a more modern, improvisational flare, using songs that relate to each individual. My students play anything from Bach, Harry Potter, Frozen, to 2 Cellos, to pop songs by bands like the White Stripes. I currently have 12 students, all who have been studying with me for a year or more. I studied under a Boston Pops cellist named Ellinor Benedict and currently studying jazz techniques with Dr. Alex Kelly in SF. I've been playing cello for 15 years and have classical piano experience as well. I love teaching and inspiring people to learn the cello!

    Devon has a lot of patience and a great demeanor with kids. She came prepared with a beginner book and taught from that curriculum. My twins who have very different personalities both enjoyed their lesson with her and we will definitely be signing up for more!
