There are pros and cons to the swim class at YMCA. I don't like how there are 6 kids to 1 teacher for a 30 min lesson. While the teachers are really good at keeping things moving and getting new skills in, it still feels like the child is hanging out on the wall a bit too much while the teacher is assisting others. Also, the locker rooms are very chaotic and every mom looked like she needed a glass of wine to put up with the screaming kids all changing at the same time. The pros are that the instructors are fantastic, it's indoor so you can swim even in the winter and you get to meet other people from the area as there are a lot of kids that go through the YMCA swim program.
